GS1 Series Mini-Drives
The GS1 series of AC drives are our most affordable
and compact inverters, offering V/Hz control with advanced application
features. These drives can be configured using the built-in digital keypad
(which also allows you to set the drive speed, start and stop, and monitor
specific parameters) or with the standard RS485 serial communications
port. Standard GS1 features include one analog input, four programmable
digital inputs and one programmable normally open relay output.
GS2 Series Micro-Drives

The GS2 series of AC drives offers all
of the features of our GS1 drives plus dynamic braking, PID and a removable
keypad. The drive can be configured using the built-in digital keypad
or with the standard RS485 serial communications port. The standard keypad
allows you to configure the drive, set the speed, start and stop the drive,
and monitor specific parameters during operation. Each GS2 AC drive features
one analog and six programmable digital inputs, and one analog and two
programmable relay outputs.
DURApulse AC Drives (GS3 Series)
The DURApulse series of sensorless vector drives.
Built on the simplicity and flexibility of the GS1 and GS2 series
drives, DURApulse drives are available in 1 to 100 Hp models and
offer sensorless vector and closed loop control, autotuning, 175%
starting torque, and 150% rate current for one minute.
The DURApulse series of AC drives offers all of the features of
our GS2 series drives, including dynamic braking, PID, removeable
keypad and RS485 MODBUS communication. The DURApulse drives also
offer sensorless vector control with the option of encoder feedback
for enhanced speed control.
The standard smart keypad (a.k.a. HIM or Human Interface Module)
is designed with defaults for North American customers and allows
you to configure the drive, set the speed, start and stop the drive,
and monitor critical parameters for your application. In addition,
this keypad has internal memory that allows four complete programs
to be stored and transferred to any DURApulse drive. The DURApulse
series offers three analog inputs, eleven digital inputs, and one
SPDT relay output.
Open serial communications are available with a standard RS485 MODBUS
serial interface, which offers communications up to 38.4 K. An Ethernet
option, combined with AutoamtionDirect's, KEPDirect EBC I/O Server can be used to connect the drives to any OPC client.
DURApulse drives are UL and CE listed, and come with a two-year
replacement warranty.

Accessory Items - AC Drives
A variety of accessory items are available
to support both the GS series and Hitachi series AC drives. If you need
to protect your drive from spikes, surges or short circuits, we offer
a variety of line reactors. Other items include: input fuse kits, spare
input fuses, braking options, EMI/ RFI filters, communications options
and drive configuration devices, software and cables. Other spare parts
are also available.
- Line reactors - Protect your drive
from spikes, surges or short circuits.
- Input fuse kits - For circuit
protection. Kits consist of one fuse block and fuses sized to match
each drive. Replacement fuses are also available.
- Braking options - An optional
braking resistor may be required for applications that require rapid
deceleration or high inertia loads. Used to increase the control torque
of the inverter, for frequently repeated ON-OFF cycles of the inverter,
or for decelerating a load with large inertia
- Keypads and Cables - Spare keypads,
keypad cables and other cables are available for the GS2 drives
- Configuration Software - GSOFT,
the configuration software for the GS Series drives, allows a personal
computer to be connected to either the GS1 or GS2 series drives. The
Hitachi Drive Manager Software Suite (DOP-PRO) is a collection of programming
software that covers the full range of our Hitachi drives. The DOP Plus
software is an emulation program based on Hitachi handheld programming
devices. For SJ100 drives, the QuickStart program enables remote programming
from your PC with a simple menu-driven Windows-based system. The SRW-OEX
Simulator is an online programming tool for the SJ300 Series drives.
- Configuration Devices - There
are several choices when deciding how to configure, control, or monitor
your Hitachi SJ100 or SJ300 drive, including a built-in digital keypad,
remote display with stop button, or digital remote operator with serial
communications.
- Communication Options - Ethernet
and RS485 communication capabilities are available for the GS drives.
There is an Ethernet drive module available for Hitachi SJ100 series
drives. The SJ-FB encoder feedback board improves the SJ300’s
speed regulation and torque response.
- EMI/ RFI Filters - Input EMI filters
reduce electromagnetic interference or noise on the input side of the
AC drive. EMI filters are needed for CE compliance.
