Distance.
Most networks , generally speaking are limited to around the 1Km to 3 Km range using copper. In the majority of installations, this is quite sufficient to enable the company to utilise such topologies, but noise and also lightning is still a limiting factor.

In the Mining Industry , for example where control hubs (PLC’s and DCS’s) can be installed far in excess of these distances, copper transportation is far from ideal. So, how can the data which is considered so important be transported over these distances and without fear of corruption? The answer is simple - Niplex fibre optic modems.

Ethernet fibre opticl Products

Niplex- Phoenix Digital provides Redundant, Self-Healing, Multidrop Fiber Optic Connectivity for 10/100 Mbps FAST Ethernet Communication Networks. 

Multidrop 100+ FAST Ethernet fiber modules on a single bus, ring, or star network.  Phoenix Digital’s FAST Ethernet fiber optic modules enable self-healing, redundant communication with ultra-fast recovery for redundant control networks.  In addition, Phoenix Digital’s FAST Ethernet fiber modules include its exclusive Priority Queuing System (PQS), enablng the user to manage overall network bandwidth to insure priority access is given to critical control nodes on the network. 

In addition to all of this, Phoenix Digital’s FAST Ethernet fiber optic modules include Real Time Diagnostics (Optional) to monitor Network Integrity and locate Fault Conditions On-line, without disrupting Network Communications.  FAST Ethernet Optical Communication Modules are available in modular Standalone, DIN-Rail/Panelmount Industrial Enclosures with integral 24 VDC ,(120/220 VAC, or 125 VDC power supplies are also available )

Niplex Phoenix Digital’s fiber optic modules support all types of fiber optic cable including multimode, single mode, and Industrial Fiber (available only from Phoenix Digital), extending communication distances over 60 miles (96 Kilometers) between locations. 

Product architecture protects legacy wiring investment and cable plant layouts.  No need to re-wire or re-route fiber optic cable plant as product permits ALL new and existing network topologies, including radial (star), bus, and fault tolerant ring network configurations.

ALL Phoenix Digital FAST Ethernet Optical Communication Modules are rated for Installation in Class I, Division 2 Hazardous Locations.
