PSM Series Power Supplies - Part Numbering System

v

RHINO PSM Series part numbers use the following numbering convention: PSM 24 090S-N

The first 3 letters represent the series name: PSM = slim-line metal case

The next 2 digits indicate the output volts (e.g. 24 = 24 VDC)

The next group of 4 characters (090S) indicate the output watts: 090, and the S indicates a Screw Terminal Connector

The last character (N) indicates: NEC Class 2

SPECIALTY MODULES

RHINO PSM24-REM360S Redundancy Module
dUsing two PSM24 power supplies and a redundancy module, you can configure a redundant power system, featuring active current sharing, without any additional components. Even if one power supply fails or becomes disconnected, the second unit will supply the full current to the load.

The module has an alarm contact for monitoring of operations. The inputs are hot-swappable and can be loaded up to 15 A each. Terminal plugs are included.

RHINO PSM24-BCM360S Battery Control Module The battery control module, when combined with a PSM24 power supply, makes a perfect DC-UPS system by providing the means to charge and monitor an external lead acid battery. The power supply charges the connected battery and keeps it in charge mode. Consequently, the output voltage of the system is equivalent to the battery voltage.

To avoid overcharging the battery, an external temperature sensor(sold separately) adjusts the battery voltage automatically to the required end of charge voltage. This configuration extends the battery life.

RHINO PSM24-BFM600S Buffer Module The buffer module will maintain the output voltage of a 24 VDC power supply after brownouts or voltage dips for typically up to 200 ms at 25 amps, or up to 4 seconds at 1.2 Amps. It is a cost effective alternative to a battery-based backup system.

The operation modes are indicated by an LED on the front panel. Storing the energy in a capacitor bank, this backup solution is completely maintenance free. Its storage capacity does not deteriorate over the lifetime of the unit.

DC Power Supplies - DIN Rail Mounting - Plastic Slim-Line Case (RHINO PSP Series)

5 VDC, 12 VDC and 24 VDC Power Supplies g

The RHINO PSP series of power supplies is a new generation of switching power supplies with an excellent price/ performance ratio. They provide tightly regulated output voltage for sensitive loads in industrial environments. PSP series power supplies include a 3 year extended warranty.

The slim-line plastic case is lightweight and compact and comes in both screw and cage clamp terminal versions. The constant-current, short circuit protection limits the output current as the voltage is reduced, to safely protect your control components from direct shorts and device failures. Once a fault is corrected, the power supply automatically resumes supplying full voltage power. (PSPxx-024x models have foldback current protection with autorecovery.)

The RHINO PSP power supplies have a "Power On" LED for easy visual indication of operation, as well as a "Power Good" signal for feedback to your system controller. With a UL 508C rating, the RHINO PSP series is the right choice for space limited applications. A plastic DIN rail insert is provided to allow easy panel mounting. Most models meet NEC class 2 requirements.

Features include:

  • Regulated switch mode type
  • Models with 5, 12 or 24 VDC output
  • Power good signal
  • Output voltage adjustable
  • 4 A at 5 VDC (20 W)
  • 2 - 8 A at 12 VDC (24 W - 120 W)
  • 1 - 5 A at 24 VDC (24 W - 120 W)
  • Reliable snap-on mounting on DIN-rails
  • Plug-in screw terminals or cage clamp terminals.
NOTE: (Screw terminal models include a plastic DIN rail insert to allow easy panel mounting).
  • Constant-current short circuit protection (PSPxx-024x models have foldback current protection)
  • Low ripple and noise
  • Meets NEC class 2 requirements (except for PSPxx-120x models)
  • Universal input 85-264 VAC, 50/60 Hz or 85-375 VDC
  • Worldwide safety approvals: UL508 listed, UL/c UL1950 recognized
  • Overload and short-circuit protection
  • Ultra-compact (slim-line) plastic case
  • Finger-safe terminals
  • Parallel operation up to five units (not for n+1 redundancy)
  • Wall mounting bracket included
